Taking Time to Look After Our Team

Yesterday afternoon gave our whole team at Cornerstone the opportunity to come together, have a proper catch-up and, most importantly, spend some time checking in with one another.

Supporting people experiencing homelessness can be incredibly rewarding, but we also recognise the pressures that come with the work our teams do every day. As we head into what is traditionally one of our busiest times of the year, taking some time to focus on the wellbeing of our staff was incredibly important.

It was particularly good to hear how positive everyone is feeling about the months ahead. There was a real sense of togetherness across the team, with colleagues from different areas of the charity having the opportunity to catch up away from the pressures of their usual working day.

Having organisations that recognise not only the importance of the work we do, but also the importance of looking after the people delivering it, means a great deal to us.

We would also like to thank the amazing staff at The Black Olive in Hartlepool for looking after us so well.

The food was beautiful, the service was fantastic and everyone made us feel incredibly welcome. If you haven’t visited The Black Olive already, we would certainly recommend it.

Today, our teams are already busy at work again across our services.

Yesterday was simply about taking a little time to look after the people who spend every day looking after others, making sure we’re ready, together, for the busy months ahead.
