Partnership Working to Locate and Support People Rough Sleeping in Bishop Auckland

This morning, members of our County Durham Homeless Response Team joined Emmaus North East and Woodhouse Close Community Centre to carry out a street sweep across Bishop Auckland.

The outreach formed part of the Women’s Rough Sleeping Census, helping to locate women who may be sleeping rough in the area. Our team also visited other known locations to carry out welfare checks and offer assistance to anyone we encountered.

Anyone needing further help could be directed to our Bishop Auckland Homeless Hub for continued support, advice and practical assistance.

Partnership working plays an important role in outreach like this. By working together, we can bring different services and experience directly to those who need them and make it easier for people to access the right help.

As we have highlighted previously, our work in Bishop Auckland is currently unfunded, but our team remains committed to being there for people experiencing homelessness in the area.
