80 Miles for 80 Years

80 Miles for 80 Years

We recently had the privilege of joining the amazing Alison Parks for part of her journey along the Weardale Way.

To celebrate her 80th birthday, Alison has taken on an incredible challenge – walking 80 miles for 80 years, all while raising vital funds to help us support people experiencing homelessness across the North East.

Bob and one of our team joined Alison for part of her walk, but before setting off we were proud to welcome her into our Bishop Auckland Homeless Hub and show her more of the work her fundraising is helping to support.

From there, we walked together to the heart of our charity – our workshop. This gave us the opportunity to show Alison how the different sides of our charity work together and, most importantly, the difference every penny raised can make.

As we head towards the colder months, donations like these become even more important. They help our teams continue providing practical support, housing assistance and somewhere safe for people who find themselves homeless or with nowhere else to go.

Taking on 80 miles is an incredible achievement at any age, but doing it to celebrate your 80th birthday while helping others makes Alison’s challenge particularly special.

We are incredibly grateful to Alison for choosing to support our work, and we hope as many people as possible will get behind her and help make every one of those 80 miles count.

Please support Alison’s 80 Miles for 80 Years challenge and help us continue supporting people experiencing homelessness across the North East. 🧡💙
