Working Together to Help People Off the Streets

Working Together to Help People Off the Streets
Last night, our Homeless Response Team was out across Hartlepool, following up new StreetLink alerts and checking known rough sleeping locations.

One report from a member of the public led our team to a couple who were sleeping rough. Through our on-call service, we were able to locate them, offer emergency accommodation and take them directly off the streets that night.

It’s a powerful reminder of just how important it is to report concerns when you see someone sleeping rough.

It takes a community

Ending homelessness isn’t something that any one organisation can do alone. It takes a community looking out for one another, people taking the time to report concerns and support teams working together to make sure help reaches those who need it.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who takes the time to submit a StreetLink report. What may feel like a small action can make a life-changing difference, helping our team reach someone who needs support and potentially giving them their first step away from sleeping rough.

Help us reach people sooner

If you see someone sleeping rough in Hartlepool or County Durham, please report their location through StreetLink. The more information provided, the better chance our team has of locating the individual and offering the appropriate support.

By working together, we can reach people sooner and help more people access the accommodation and support they need.

Thank you to everyone who continues to look out for the most vulnerable people in our communities.
