Supporting People Sleeping Rough in Hartlepool

Supporting People Sleeping Rough in Hartlepool

Our Homeless Response Team was out in Hartlepool again last night, following up new StreetLink alerts and reaching out to people sleeping rough to offer support.

We are incredibly grateful to the Hartlepool community for continuing to let us know when you see someone sleeping rough. Every sighting reported to us is followed up by our team.

When we locate someone, our support doesn’t end after one visit. We continue to return, build trust and offer help until that person feels ready to engage with the housing and support options available to them.

Support can take time

It’s important to remember that we cannot force someone to leave the streets or accept support. There can be many complex reasons why someone may not feel able to take up the options available straight away.

For some people, it takes time, patience and continued contact before they feel ready to take that next step. Our team will continue to be there, offering support and making sure they know help is available when they are ready.

How you can help

If you see someone sleeping rough or experiencing housing distress in Hartlepool, please report their location through StreetLink. This gives our team the information we need to follow up and offer support.

You can also direct anyone who needs help to our Homeless Hub on Park Road, opposite Citizens Advice. Our Hub is open for anyone sleeping rough to come in, speak to our team and access support.

A huge thank you to everyone across Hartlepool who continues to look out for people in our community who need us most. Your reports really do help us reach people who may otherwise be left without support.

Let’s End Homelessness Together.
